I've lived all over the world, but I've never been so inspired by a place as by Greater Syracuse, New York. Here the best of entertainment, education, and culture can be found 10 minutes in one direction and wild, scenic places 10 minutes in another. Here each season can be experienced to its fullest. Here a tremendous grassroots effort is underway to make this area even better--hundreds of volunteers and groups of volunteers working on the environment, education, race relations, beatification, the economy, and more.
It's a fabulous place to visit, and an even better place to live.
With more than 900 animals, including many endangered species, Burnet Park Zoo is one of Central New York's big surprises. This summer Siberian tigers move in. The elephant breeding program has seen remarkable success--a good indicator of a zoo of high quality.
